國家聯盟大都會對巨人的外卡驟死戰，果然是強投對決，大都會隊「雷神」Noah Syndergaard直到第6局才被巨人隊Denard Span打出第1支安打，此戰巨人隊先發投手Madison Bumgarner也表現精采，6局結束，兩隊仍是0比0。
雷神前5局沒被巨人隊打出安打，威風八面，直到6局上兩出局之後，才被Span擊出安打，球速最快100哩，三振10次，加上中外野手Curtis Granderson守備有精采演出，讓雷神愈投愈勇。
大聯盟史上曾出現兩場無安打比賽，第一次是1956年的世界大賽第五戰，洋基投手Don Larsen對道奇隊投出「完全比賽」，另外一次是2010年首輪季後賽第一戰，費城人強投Roy Halladay對紅人隊投出無安打比賽。
